Connor is a lifelong resident of the Hi-Desert. He was born and raised in Joshua Tree and his parents both grew up in the 29 Palms area. His father, Bill McClay, has owned and operated McClay’s Distributors, a local family business, since 1957. His mother, Brenda McClay, has served as a Registered Nurse for Desert Regional Hospital for over 30 years.

Growing up in the open space and bright sun, Connor has always had an affinity towards the desert and its landscape. After graduating from Joshua Springs Christian School, he went on to earn his B.S. in Environmental Science from California Lutheran University. Connor worked as a field biologist tracking desert wildlife stretching through the Colorado Desert from Joshua Tree to Blythe, CA.
